The enhancement work of the airport was officially launched in April 2017. It is included expansion of the runway and the apron area. Now, the airport would able to accommodate more large aircraft where planes land and take off. The works has been completed in Fourth Quarter of 2019.
Santo Pecchia International Airport will be enhanced and designed to align the standard of facilities with the capital Port Vila Bauerfield International Airport, while the runway at Whitegrass Airport meets the Code C (Boeing 737-800 / Airbus A320) standard. The project is expected to be completed by August 2018.
The new Luganville Wharf has been launched in 2017 that is the longest wharf in the island states of South Pacific. It has the capacity to accommodate three ships compare the old one which can only receive one.
Port Vila Lapetasi International Multi-Purpose Wharf has officially opened in Feb 2018. The Vanuatu Government in conjunction with the Ports Authority embarked upon a US$100 million project to build a new international container terminal and wharf, providing additional freight capacity and separating international cargo vessels from cruise ships.
