Vanuatu has posted strong economic performance in recent years, driven by tourism and construction. Growing tourism and trade industries, Vanuatu’s tourism related facilities at Port Vila strained to cope with demand. The terminal is shared by both cruise and cargo ships, and with recent increases of tourists. Also, the enhancement work of the international airport was just completed in 2019 that included expansion of the runway and the apron area.
