The country will face worsening economic troubles because 3.5 million new workers will join the workforce every year while existing growth rates fail to create enough employment opportunities. The human cost emerges through increasing poverty levels and social unrest and the inability of a whole generation to reach its full potential. Only through ongoing educational reforms and improvements to the investment environment and productive capacity will Pakistan achieve its necessary employment growth while breaking its current downward trend.
